Epson SX400 All-in-one inkjet printer
The Epson SX400 is the next version up from the SX200 which is a great multifunction printer so the SX400 should be every better because it costs £30 more. It difficult to see what is different about the SX400 apart from the addition of a LCD screen for previewing photos before printing from a memory card. Epson SX400 ink cartridges are the same four individual printer ink cartridges found in the SX200 and this gives it reasonable running costs as it means the colours can be change separately without wasting ink in only one colour has run out. A set of genuine Epson ink cartridges for the SX400 costs around £30 but there are compatible available for less than £15. Although the SX400 has a cheap price tag is doesn’t mean that it’s lacking in performance, print quality is excellent and far better than expected, scanning is impressive too, performs well on a variety of different types of documents from basic drawing to high resolution graphics and photographs. The copier functions utilizes the scanner for it copying of documents and performs equally as good although is slightly let down by the SX400 low print speeds of 4ppm. Built quality of the device is a big step up from previous models which had a “cheap” feel to them but the SX400 feels robust and this is backed up with one year warranty from Epson.
